Consultant Maxillofacial & Facial Plastic Surgeon

 

Tim Blackburn is a board registered specialist in Facial Surgery graduating with 4 distinctions from King’s College London. After training in London & Liverpool, Tim won the Intercollegiate Gold Medal in the FRCS exit examination. He has undertaken fellowships in head & neck surgery in Manchester in Plastic, ENT and Maxillo-Facial surgery & observerships in Milan, Glasgow, Toronto, Chicago and Germany.

Tim was appointed a Consultant in the Manchester Royal Infirmary Department of Maxillo-Facial & Facial Plastic Surgery in 2008. He sub special is es in cosmetic & reconstructive facial plastic surgery with an accumulated experience of over 3000 operations in facial plastic surgery. Tim is honorary consultant at The Christie, Honorary tutor for Manchester Medical School. Tim is a member of 5 specialised interdisciplinary teams at the University teaching hospital in central Manchester: Head & Neck cancer / reconstruction; specialist skin cancer; facial neuromuscular rehabilitation; orbital & skull base surgery working with complex facial disease, trauma, implants, 3D planning & reconstruction.

Tim is the elected secretary-general to the International Academy of Oral and Facial Rehabilitation, a peer-reviewer for the International Journal and serves for the Intercollegiate Specialty Exit Examination by invitation.

Tim has many peer reviewed publications, international presentations including key-note lectures and is active in research in facial plastic surgery. Tim’s applies his sub-specialist skills to his cosmetic facial plastic surgery including liposculpture, laser treatment, botulinum toxin, fillers, custom implants & mini-facelift under local anaesthesia with sedation.
